Our Junior Youth begin the journey of transitioning to a youth group. This year, they are following the Unitarian Universalist curriculum Neighboring Faiths to learn about some of the other faith traditions in our community. Working with their leaders, they choose the faiths they would like to examine. Included are periodic visits to other places of worship or visits to our church by those of other traditions. At the same time, the junior youth are looking at how other faiths relate to Unitarian Universalism and to their own values, reflecting on how religious experience is universal and unique, and gaining an understanding of religious diversity. Through the year, the group also enjoys social events and participation in service projects.

Our Whole Lives

This year our, 7th, 8th, and 9th graders may participate in the comprehensive, age-appropriate human sexuality program developed by the Unitarian Universalist Association. Included is a Sexuality and Our Faith component which stresses religious community and spiritual depth. A mandatory parents’ meeting is held prior to the start of the class.
