Youth
Infants/Toddlers Preschool/K Grades 1-3 & 4-6 Youth Adults Worship Service Projects Teachers

We have two youth groups at Mill Creek: the Junior Youth Group for grades 7 and 8 and the YRUU (Young Religious UUs) for grades 9 to 12. This autumn, both groups meet together to learn about community and the joys and responsibilities that are part of being in a community. Together they will plan and carry out one or more service projects.

After autumn, the YRUU begin a Coming of Age program to explore their personal spirituality through a variety of group and individual activities.  Each is paired with a mentor from the congregation, encouraged to prepare a personal credo of beliefs and to take part in a Coming of Age worship service in the spring.  A trip to UU sites in Boston is usually a highlight of the program.

During winter and spring, the Junior Youth participate in a variety of social, educational and service activities to learn more about their spirituality, Unitarian Universalism, world religions and community service.

Both youth groups meet on an irregular schedule. Please contact Doris Roth (Director of Religious Education), The Grist (church newsletter) or the church calendar to learn the schedule of meeting times.  When not meeting, youth members are encouraged to become involved in the Sunday service or assist in the children’s classes or childcare.
