Lay Ministry and Chalice Circles
Lay Ministry
The Unitarian Universalist Society of Mill Creek has developed a Lay Ministry team that function as an additional level of support for the minister and our congregation. Each member, or member family, is assigned a lay minister who is responsible for them. Members can contact their lay minister if they need to find ministry services, have questions regarding UUSMC, or to just get acquainted.
Chalice Circles
UUSMC offers Chalice Circles, a program designed to augment and strengthen the shared experiences of our congregational life. Chalice Circles provide a safe and confidential environment where people are encouraged and supported in the sharing of stories, experiences, ideas, and feelings to develop spiritually and build community.
Chalice Circles is a form of small-group ministry where people covenant to meet together on a regular basis for the express purposes of:
- Forming deeper, more intimate relationships
- Sharing spiritual struggles and growth
- Deepening religious commitment
- Ministering to each other
- Supporting each other
- Learning from each other
- Finding one’s spiritual voice
