The Welcoming Congregation Committee’s of UUSMC and UU Fellowship of Newark hosted a special luncheon on Sunday, June 12th after the Sunday service. As part of the regular second Sunday pot-luck, we featured a special celebration to commend the passage of Civil Unions in Delaware.
We invited all of the legislators who supported this bill as well as other community activists and leaders who have worked for many years for civil rights in our state. We also wanted to thank all of you, members of our congregations, who supported this effort though the years with your letters and phone calls. Thanks to all who attended this event as it’s a joyous milestone for us all!
