UUSMC Congregational Vote!
Post Date: Monday, April 14, 2014
Dear UUSMC members,
As you all know, the Rev. Greg Pelley has accepted our invitation to be a candidate for full time settled ministry with UUSMC. To extend a formal offer, we must hold a congregational vote. In a normal search process, that vote comes at the end of an intense candidating week during which the full congregation has the opportunity to meet the candidate for the first time. Most of us have had the opportunity to get to know Greg over the past few months, so in this case we will use a modified version of the candidating process.
On Tuesday April 29 from 9-3 Greg will hold open office hours at the church. This is an opportunity to drop by, introduce yourself and ask Greg any questions you may have.
On Saturday May 3 from 1-3 we will hold an informal “meet the candidate” event at Woodside Farm. This is another opportunity to get to know Greg better and ask any questions.
On Sunday May 4, following Sunday service, we will hold the official congregational vote. This message serves as the formal announcement of that vote, as required by our bylaws.
service and the official vote on May 4.
In honor of the occasion, we will be moving our monthly potluck up to Sunday May 4, to take place immediately after the official vote. We hope to see you there.
