————————————————————
In this time of division and violence, there are modern voices inviting us to imagine a peaceful world. What wisdom do they have for us, so that we can create peace on Earth? Join us this Sunday for Rev. Pamela Wat’s sermon, “Creating Peace.”
Rev. Pamela Wat is a Unitarian Universalist minister from Wilmington. She served Denton Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Texas and First Unitarian Church in Wilmington, in addition to serving as a hospice and hospital chaplain in California, Texas, and Delaware. Currently, she works as a consultant to the Unitarian Universalist Association and serves on the board of Delaware Pacem in Terris.
Music today is performed by Maria Rusu. Born in Brasov, Romania, Maria Rusu attended a music school for twelve years before coming to the U.S. to continue her musical studies. She graduated from the University of Delaware in 2017 with a Master of Music in Viola Performance. She also received a Bachelor of Music in Viola Performance from Bowling Green State University, College of Musical Arts in Bowling Green, Ohio in 2015. Maria currently serves as Core Faculty at the Music School of Delaware, working in the registrar’s office, teaching violin, viola, jazz voice, as well as string coaching and being the assistant conductor of the Delaware Youth Symphony Orchestra.

** Join Us for Ingathering
————————————————————
Sunday, September 7
Join us for this sacred beginning to a new church year, as we celebrate the many sources of our lives flowing into one shared stream of possibility.
Bring water from a place meaningful to you, whether from a summer adventure, your own kitchen tap, or a symbol of the waters that have sustained you. Together, we will bless these waters and recommit ourselves to the work of inclusion, justice, and love that defines who we are as a people of faith.
** In Case You Missed It
————————————————————
The church pool party held last Saturday, August 23 at Fran Gulino and Joe Snader’s house was well attended by church members and friends of all ages. The food was plentiful, the fellowship was uplifting, and the weather was gorgeous!
We extend a message of gratitude to Fran and Joe for hosting this event and welcoming us to their lovely home.

** Current Share Our Plate Recipient
————————————————————
We regularly donate a half of our undesignated plate collection to a local charity or non-profit organization. For the months of July and August we are supporting:
Unitarian Universalist Delaware Advocacy Network (UUDAN)
This organization supports Delaware state legislation that aligns with UU principles. This includes affordable housing, criminal justice, protection for marginalized groups, environmental protection, climate justice, and more. UUDAN’s operating budget of approximately $1000 per year is shared by the 5 UU congregations in the state of Delaware in a rotating cycle. This is Mill Creek’s year to offer support.
Learn more about UUDAN HERE (https://www.uudeladvo.org/wp/sample-page/)

** Wednesday Evening Meadow Maintenance
————————————————————
The Land Stewards continue their weekly evening work efforts every Wednesday around 5:30pm, weather permitting. You don’t need to be a meadow worker bee to come out and enjoy some social time with us in the meadow. – everyone is welcome to simply walk around and enjoy our natural native habitat.
It’s not all about pulling weeds – there are many opportunities to get involved! We’ve put together a list of suggestions for ways anyone can help – from minimal effort, to moderate activity, to using shovels and pulling weeds. Check it out by clicking the button below.

** All Ages Trans Spiritual Care Program
————————————————————
The Woodlands is a monthly online gathering designed for trans children, youth, and adults—as well as the parents and caregivers of trans people. Each session will begin with a shared message and grounding ritual, followed by breakout rooms tailored to different communities within our circle, and we come back together for a release. Sessions will be about an hour and a half.
Each breakout room—co-facilitated by two chaplains—will offer space for meaningful check-ins where we can honor our grief, celebrate our joy, and support one another. The spirit of each room will reflect the people within it. The first gathering is on Sunday, September 7 at 4:00 pm EST. The sessions will occur monthly on the first Sunday thereafter.
