Join us for worship Sunday, August 18th, 2019 at 10:30 am. Rev. Greg welcomes all beloved pets to our Blessing of the Animals service, This will be a multi-generational worship service where members and friends are invited to bring their well-behaved live pets; or a photograph of a pet; or even a stuffed animal to be blessed.
We will also create space during the service to honor those animals that have died and remain in our memory – bring a photo or an object of remembrance of a beloved deceased pet and we will create a memorial altar.
If you choose to bring a live animal, they must be restrained at all times and well-socialized. If you have allergies, please know that there will be live animals in our sanctuary, take care of yourself, even if that means having to miss this service.
Music for the morning will be performed by returning local musicians E. Shawn “Q” Qaissaunee and Scott Lynch.
Adult Religious Exploration
Before Service
Continuing in the spirit of open conversation, the ARE gatherings on Sunday mornings in August will feature informal drop-in discussions we’re calling Coffee Shop Theology. This Sunday we’ll have our own Open Pool-side Theology– we will examine for ourselves the questions that Rev. Greg has been posing: Describe your religious upbringing and how it has that formed your world view. How has your world view changed since coming to Unitarian Universalism? Join us in the MacArtor Library, 9:15-10:15 am for coffee, tea and conversation!
Children’s and Youth Religious Exploration
During Service
During Sunday’s Multi-generational Worship, there will be NO RELIGIOUS EXPLORATION activities. We’ll be back next week with more “Summer of Science” activities. See you there!
It’s going to be another wonderful day of worship and fellowship at Mill Creek!
