Join us for worship this Sunday, October 4th at 10:30 a.m.
Our theme for the month of October is Compassion.
We begin our month of Compassion with a special multi-generational worship service led by Rev. Greg, the Young Religious Unitarian Universalists (YRUU), and some special guests. Rev. Greg will preach a homily called “Breathe With Me,” considering what it takes spiritually so that we may be compassionately engaged in the work of talking about race. He will then be joined by Linda Lucero and Apryl Walker from the Coalition to Dismantle the New Jim Crow, who will lead the congregation through two exercises designed to build a practice of clearness, honesty, listening, and compassionate understanding. We will also be joined by Amy Kaufman, the president and founder of the Shauna Rose Kaufman Foundation who will speak to the compassionate work they are doing in Nepal.
We welcome steel drummer Mike Cook whose music is designed to bring happiness — to remind us that our practices of compassion must include joy. Peg Duffy will accompany our hymns.
