Church Cancellation Procedures and Notification Methods

Sunday, January 13: Dear Friends, As of 7:00 this morning, we are still planning to have our worship service at 10:30 am. Road crews are busy clearing, and main roads are in decent condition. Side roads are starting to be cleared. Our parking lot is not yet clear, but we anticipate our plowman to be here soon. Please assess your local travel conditions before heading out — be safe. Blessings, Rev. Greg

We never want to cancel our Sunday morning services, classes, or any event due to inclement weather. However, we also want everyone to be safe, so on occasion, we must – from an abundance of caution – cancel. Board policy leaves the decision to the minster and the board president. We always endeavor to make such decisions in a timely fashion.

If the decision to cancel is made we will: send out an email to all congregants, post notice on Facebook (both the public and private UUSMC pages), and post notice here on the UUSMC website.

We are now linked with the local SnoWatch system. SnoWatch reports are broadcast on 1150 AM WDEL and 93.7 FM WSTW and are available online at wdel.com and wstw.com

From now through March, if the weather calls for any kind of precipitation, please check the above media or call the church before heading out. We want you to be safe!
