This is the time of year at Mill Creek when we begin the kick-off of a few of our most popular annual support programs: Share Our Bounty (Thanksgiving meal food drive), Share Our Warmth (cold weather clothing items & blankets), and Souper Bowl Sunday (February food drive).
These programs, plus other efforts we conduct seasonally, have benefitted in the past from our generous financial support, and with donations of non-perishable food items, winter clothing, household cleaning & general supplies, Thanksgiving meal boxes, and personal care items. While it is unfortunate that our church building remains closed, leaving us unable to gather on Sundays for the time being, these programs and the people they serve will suffer as a result … unless we do something about it and continue our tradition of bountiful support.
Our doors may be closed – but our hearts are always open!
We wanted to provide you with information about the charities Mill Creek has supported in the past through these programs, and have prepared a Charitable Giving Catalog – a gathering of comprehensive information about each charity, as well as other organizations we support seasonally, and include details about donating food and/or material provisions, and ways to contribute financially – through the mail with a check, or electronically.
We hope you find the Catalog easy to use and helpful, especially at this time of year when we are reminded of those less fortunate than ourselves – especially now.
We believe that generously sharing our gifts and receiving the gifts of others grows our compassion. We find our gifts flow from discerning the intersection of our heart’s deepest yearning and the world’s deepest hunger. We know ourselves to be most alive when we honor the earth and all humanity upon it.
