Courage To Be Real

Join us for worship this Sunday, November 8th at 10:30 am

Join Rev. Greg and Pam Allenstein as they offer a special worship service inspired by the 1993 Jane Campion film, The Pianoand the powerful musical score by Michael Nyman. The film tells the story of a mute woman in Victorian Scotland who is married off to a man she has not met in remote New Zealand. Arriving on the beach with her daughter and her piano, she is thrust into a strange world and must use her one true expression — her music — to find the Courage to be Real.

Children and youth are invited to join us for the first portion of the service before heading to their Religious Exploration classes.

Come early!  Our Adult Religious Education group meets every Sunday before service in the MacArtor Library at 9:15 am. This week we will be viewing a video of Karen Armstrong discussing her book Muhammad: A Prophet for Our Time.  Muhammad presents a fascinating portrait of the founder of a religion that continues to change the course of world history. Muhammad’s story is more relevant than ever because it offers crucial insight into the true origins of an increasingly radicalized Islam. Countering those who dismiss Islam as fanatical and violent, Armstrong offers a clear, accessible, and balanced portrait of the central figure of one of the world’s great religions.

It’s going to be another great day at Mill Creek!
