Join us for worship this Sunday at 10:30 a.m.
Join us this Sunday Rev. Greg begins our monthly worship theme of Presence with his message, “Our Presence.” In this season of gifts given and gifts received, the thing most longed for is not what’s in the box, but the hands and heart that offers the gift.
Our music will be performed by Katie August, a music student at Cab Calloway School of the Arts.
In Children’s Religious Education,December is going to be a fun and busy month for our RE kids as we get ready for the holidays, continue with our Sunday morning classes, and learn more about how we can grow our spirits through nature-related activities and discussions. This Sunday, the children will read Jon Muth’s “The Three Questions” as we discuss and reflect on a story of a young boy in search of life’s answers. Nikoli soon finds the answers lie within his own heart in the form of compassion and presence. In addition to the story the children will learn a simple version of the loving kindness meditation and make their own miniature zen gardens to take home. We welcome and look forward to children coming to Classroom One on Sunday after Reverend Greg’s Story!
Come early! Our Adult Religious Education group meets most every Sunday – before service at 9:15 am in the MacArtor Library. This Sunday we start a series of discussions on racial justice leading up the workshop and sermon by Chris Crass on Martin Luther King Day Weekend. Our series begins with a video of John A. Powell, Professor of Law and African-American/Ethnic Studies at the University of California, Berkeley, discussing structural racism.
It’s going to be another great day at Mill Creek!
