We are a community that invites you to awaken to love.
Beloveds,
April arrives like a quiet dare.
Cold air and warm air collide, sending us on a rollercoaster of days — coats on, coats off, windows open, windows shut. Storm skies and blue skies wrestle for center stage. And in that struggle, nature is doing something remarkable: demonstrating the full range of what’s possible. Reminding us, without a single word, that there is always another option. Always another turn in the weather. Always something yet to come.
The crocuses push through the frost. The trees begin to bud and the bird song welcomes in the warmer sun lit mornings. And something in us — despite everything — keeps reaching toward that light.
This month, we turn our hearts and minds to the ideas of embracing possibility. Doing so feels both tender and urgent right now. We are living through days that can make possibility feel like a luxury we can’t afford — days heavy with worry about our world, our democracy, our neighbors, our planet. And yet.
And yet something in us still reaches. Still wonders. Still hopes.
As UUs, we believe that is not naivety. We believe that is faith.
As our world blooms this month, might we will sit with some hard and holy questions together:
— What does it mean to embrace possibility when so much feels broken or at risk?
— How do we tend the inner life — our own sense of renewal and becoming — even in turbulent times?
— And what might it look like to show up for each other with the kind of love that builds something lasting?
In a time when it is easy to feel hopeless, isolated, or defeated, Mill Creek is a place where we practice something different. We practice showing up. We practice courage. We practice the stubborn, beautiful work of building the world we believe in — together, again, and again.
Injustice can destroy quickly, but it cannot build something lasting. That is our ground. That is our hope.
I hope to see you this month in community. Whether you arrive carrying grief or gratitude, certainty or confusion, you are welcome here — exactly as you are.
As you reflect, I also invite you to listen to this month’s music, curated to accompany our theme of Embracing Possibilities:

May possibility take root where certainty once stood.
May curiosity lead the way.
And may we find that something unexpected is already unfolding.
