Retirement Living Decisions: UU Perspectives

This is a 3-session program that has been planned with the assistance of an experienced geriatric social worker. It will occur on 3 consecutive Sundays: October 9, 16 and 23 from 4:00-5:30 pm in the Brunner Chapel at First Unitarian Church of Wilmington, 730 Halstead Rd, Wilmington, DE 19803.

Attendance at all 3 sessions is encouraged but not required. Attendance is free and open to all.

Session 1, October 9: The Journey of Aging. We will consider the gifts and challenges that accompany aging, discuss the journey of aging and where we are on the journey.

Session 2, October 16: Senior Living Options. We will learn about resources available for seniors who wish to age in place or who cannot afford to move to a retirement community. We will hear from 3 church members who have moved to retirement communities and learn their positive and negative perspectives.

Session 3, October 23: Take Action! We will discuss the information we have learned, and make plans to move ahead. We will also discuss informal networks available to help seniors.
