Our own Jack Guerin and Julie McIndoe (steering committee member of Delaware United) will co-lead a screening and discussion of the documentary film, the Last Campaign of Gov. Booth Gardner.
The film follows the “last campaign” of Booth Gardner (Governor of Washington from 1985 to 1993) to facilitate the passage of the Washington Death with Dignity Act, legalizing physician-assisted suicide in Washington state.
The End of Life Options Act legislation, recently introduced in Delaware, would give mentally capable, terminally ill adults with six months or less to live, the option to get a doctor’s prescription for a medication they could take if their suffering became intolerable.
Join us for a screening of this film and a discussion about this legislation and the issues surrounding an individual’s right to direct their own course of care during this difficult and personal time.
Presented by: Delaware United, Compassion and Choices. and Mill Creek Religious Exploration
