Join Linda Lucero and Rev. Greg Pelley to watch the new play White Guy on the Bus presented by Delaware Theatre Company. Here’s a brief synopsis:
Week after week, a wealthy businessman rides the same bus, befriending Shatique, a young single mother putting herself through school and struggling to raise a son on her own. As they get to know one another, their pasts unfold and tensions rise, unraveling a complex web of revenge, social mores and racial biases from a candid and unexpected perspective.
This is another interesting and entertaining avenue to stimulate congregational conversation about cultural perceptions, bias and race in our country. Also, after each performance there is a community discussion inviting people to reflect on the play.
We are encouraging people from Mill Creek come together on Thursday, February 16. The show starts at 7 pm. For more information about the play, ticket information and directions to the theatre go to: www.delawaretheatre.org or call 302-594-1100.
Individuals are asked to purchase their own tickets which means we will not be sitting together as a group. But, you are invited to join us at around 5 pm at Harry’s Seafood Grill in the bar area for drinks and appetizers before the show. Harry’s is located very close to the theatre at 101 S. Market St., on the Riverfront. Happy Hour is 5 – 7 pm. Please RSVP to Linda if you will be coming to Happy Hour, lindajlucero@gmail.com.
