Faithify Campaign: Goal Met!

Goal has been met … thank you!

In honor and celebration of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King’s vision for the Beloved Community, help bring Chris Crass’ message of collective liberation to Delaware and southeast Pennsylvania!

Courage for Racial Justice, Courage for Collective Liberation

We are planning a day-long workshop on January 14, 2017, a worship service on January 15, 2017, and a day of service on January 16, 2017.

What can we do in these times to live our Unitarian Universalist values in the service of bringing down institutional inequality and build up beloved community in the process?

With the Movement for Black Lives and the Indigenous Nations-led struggle at Standing Rock, the movement for racial justice continues to move us all forward. In this time of mass incarceration, mass deportation, anti-Muslim sentiment, and profound economic inequality, we stand in an urgent call for people of faith to move toward the collective liberation required for the Beloved Community. Chris Crass is a longtime anti-racist, collective liberation organizer, author, educator, and Unitarian Universalist. He will lead us in an interactive workshop designed to explore how we can rise in these times for racial justice and collective liberation.

Your generous contribution to this project will help us on the journey to make real Dr. King’s vision,

“the end is reconciliation; the end is redemption; the end is the creation of the Beloved Community. It is this type of spirit and this type of love that can transform opponents into friends.… It is this love which will bring about miracles in the hearts of men.”

We are planning for one hundred participants in this workshop, and more for Sunday morning worship and Monday’s day of service. Your gift will help us defray the costs of bringing Chris Crass to Delaware; lower the workshop registration fees; and provide workshop scholarships for activists who need just a little help on the way to transforming the world.
