Job title: Church Music Director

Job description: The Music Director –
> Provides music for Sunday services and other special services
> Prepares and leads choir for two services per month
> Rehearses choir three times per month
> Coordinates with church leadership for music appropriate for Sunday theme and message
> Arranges for music on non-choir Sundays by congregants or outside musicians

Position is quarter-time, approximately 10 hours per week
Salary: hourly rate is commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Desired qualifications:
> Bachelor’s in music;
> 1 to 2 years experience in church music
> Piano proficiency a plus, but not essential

UUSMC is a welcoming, liberal, diverse congregation of 150 members, located in a parklike setting near a university town. Resources include extensive choral music library and Steinway piano.
