March 19: Varieties of Gifts

Join us this Sunday at 10:30 a.m. as Rev. Greg offers his message, “Varieties of Gifts.” Each of us has gifts to share, our time, our talent, our financial resources. For this church to be a place of possibility, a place of love, compassion, and hope, we are each called to bring the best of ourselves, our deepest gifts.

Immediately following our (slightly shortened) worship service, all are invited to stay for lunch and conversation (our Generosity Gathering) about how we might celebrate all our gifts, and how we are changing our stewardship program to reflect our highest aspirations.

Our music will be performed by Harmonia Brass Quintet, featuring Matthew Hubner; trumpet; Cory Nunn, trumpet; Alex Sallade, French horn; Thomas Warnock, trombone; and Alek Mansouri, bass trombone. Harmonia Brass Quintet is a UD based musical ensemble.

Children’s Religious Education (RE)

We welcome the children to classroom 1 after the Story For All Ages. The children will be painting and decorating our rain barrel, which we plan to put into service this Earth Day. Many thanks to Jo Redbird for designing and creating the artwork for the rain barrel.

There will be extended child care this Sunday so parents can attend the Generosity Gathering.

Adult Religious Education (ARE)

Come early! Our Adult Religious Education group meets every Sunday at 9:15 am in the MacArtor Library. This Sunday we will continue our exploration of the “right of conscience” so important to our UU principles. This week we will share stories of times when we acted out of our sense of conscience. What happened as you listened to that “still small voice” within you? Please think of a time when you and your conscience wrestled with each other. Who won that struggle and what did you learn? The conversation will be thoughtful and respectful.

It’s going to be another great day at Mill Creek!
