10:30 am

During Pride month, we’re celebrating being exactly who and what you are, and learning to celebrate others for who they are. Join us for Rev. Christian’s sermon, “Being Who You Are.”

Music for this service will be performed by Sharon Sable and Joe Holt. Sharon Sable is an in-demand and award-winning vocalist whose repertoire is varied and includes both popular and lesser-known gems of the Great American Songbook and other timeless music from the 20th century. Joe Holt is a luminary pianist and artist who creates a space for all in the audience to join him. “Sharon Sable and Joe Holt’s shared purpose and musical compatibility is so strong that they often sound like a single pianist-singer rather than two individuals.” Their new album, “Once Upon a Summertime, the Music of Blossom Dearie,” was released in April 2023 and is receiving critical acclaim.

** In the Meadow: Meetings, Gatherings & News

Join the Mill Creek Natural Lands Stewards on Wednesday evenings and enjoy some local nature and wildlife. We can always use some help, and we will show you what to do. But you can just stop by to say hello and look around for a while without actually pulling any invasive plants (which we do a lot of). Nature usually has something to show to you if you can slow yourself and just watch for a bit. Join us next time on Wednesday, June 19!

Our next Land Stewardship meeting will be held Sunday, June 23, after Coffee Time in the conference room. We will be discussing a family habitat event we will be holding Saturday morning, September 7 (pending Board approval). We are asking for donations of home baked goods for sharing that morning. Join our meeting to learn more!

Please contact Jamie Kegerise ( or Amy White ( with questions.

Mill Creek Designated as an Official Monarch Waystation

The Monarch Waystation sign in our meadow certifies our property as being friendly to Monarch butterflies and other pollinators by providing shelter, milkweeds and other nectars.

** Church Hike this Summer
The Fellowship (Social) Committee invites everyone to join them on Saturday, June 29 at 10 am for a group hike.

We will meet in the church parking lot to hike the Pleasant Hill Paper Mill Loop trail, in White Clay Creek State Park. We will hike on dirt trails that are rocky with roots in some areas. The terrain consists of rolling hills and stream crossings via bridges. Poles are recommended if you use them. Bring water and bug spray. This 3.6-mile loop trail is generally considered a moderately challenging route and takes an average of 75 to 90 minutes to complete. Opportunity to go out together for lunch after the hike.

Contact hike leader Bill Reynolds ( with questions.

** Adult RE Opportunity
Spiritual Growth through Poetry
Rev. Christian continues with a virtual adult ed/spiritual growth opportunity using a practice called lectio divina. This involves reading a poem together several times, exploring the meaning in it, and sharing together — and it must be experienced to be fully understood. Join Rev. Christian on Zoom at 7 pm on Wednesday, June 19 and continuing on the third Wednesday of each month through June. Contact Rev. Christian ( with questions.

** There’s An App For That!

The UUA is using Whova (pronounced ‘HOO-vah’), the all-in-one event management platform, to enhance this year’s online General Assembly experience.

Designed like an online convention center, Whova hosts community boards, on-demand videos, a virtual exhibit hall, and an agenda of live sessions and on-demand programming. It’s where all official networking and socializing will take place for GA registered attendees. There also will be a virtual exhibition hall with “booths” offering conversation, items for sale, handouts, videos, and more. Click the links below to learn more.

Whova works on mobile devices, desktops, and laptops (there’s an app and a web browser version). Click HERE for access. (
