
This is an eight-week course designed to cultivate mindfulness — a special way of paying attention to present-moment experience. The course includes learning about mindfulness and its positive effect on the body and brain as well as practicing mindfulness meditation and gentle movement. Participants will learn to relate directly to whatever is happening in life, including the challenges of stress, pain and illness.
The course consists of an orientation session, eight weekly classes and one daylong workshop, held here at Mill Creek.
Orientation: Monday, October 10, 6-7:30 pm
Classes: Monday evenings, October 24-December 12, 6-8:30 pm
Workshop: Saturday, December 3, 9 am-3 pm
The course is led by Cara Lee Palmer, LCSW, Mindfulness and MBSR Teacher.
Course fee $350. Includes orientation, all classes and workshop, 2 Mindfulness Practice CDs, and a Workbook. Registration is required.
