Join us for worship this Sunday, February 7 at 10:30 am
This week, Rev. Greg begins our month of exploring “Mission” with the message, “Mission Accomplished.” As we begin to explore our personal and congregational mission, it is perhaps helpful to distinguish between “mission” as in a project or goal, and a “Mission” grounded in our values and beliefs. We will be joined by the UUSMC Choir under the direction of Kristen Tosh-Morelli, with Pam Allenstein on piano, and Diana Saunders on flute. The Young Religious Unitarian Universalists will be our worship associates.
Come early! Our Adult Religious Exploration group meets every Sunday before service at 9:15 am in the MacArtor Library. This week we will be viewing a YouTube video of Naomi Kline discussing her book, This Changes Everything: Capitalism vs the Climate. Based on the provocative title, this book might be perceived as a radical rant. However, it is actually a carefully researched presentation of the outlook and options for confronting climate change. This author enlightens us about the challenge of global warming in the same way that Michelle Alexander focused our attention on racial justice.
Visitors, please join us in the MacArtor library after the service for a special introduction to our community. We will be happy to provide information about Unitarian Universalism, to orient you to our church, and to answer any questions you may have.
It’s going to be another great day at Mill Creek!
