November 13: Gates of Hope

Join us for worship this Sunday at 10:30 a.m.

Join us this Sunday when Rev. Greg returns to the pulpit with his message, “Gates of Hope.” On this Sunday following a contentious election we begin again the long work of healing. No matter if your preferred candidates for office won or lost, this election has brought forth strong emotions. So, during our worship service, we will open space first to name what we are feeling, and name what our deepest hopes may be.

We welcome back returning guest musician Kevin Cope, who will perform for us on his classical guitar.

Children’s Religious Education/ Exploration (RE)

This Sunday we continue exploring the theme of “Healing” by sharing the true story “Wangari’s Trees of Peace”. Wangari went on to win the Nobel Prize in recognition of her work to reforest her home country of Kenya. Our children will also be planting trees in our meadow to help heal our Earth. Parents: please have your child dress appropriately for the weather and the outdoor work (work gloves are a plus if you have them).
We welcome and look forward to children coming to Classroom One on Sunday after Reverend Greg’s Story!

Adult Religious Education

Come early! Our Adult Religious Education group meets every Sunday at 9:15 am in the MacArtor Library. This is our third week of discussions led by Bob Broesler exploring the teachings of transcendentalist Theodore Parker and how he powerfully influenced Lincoln’s Gettysburg address. This Sunday Bob will host an open discussion of the election of Donald Trump: where does a progressive go from here?

Potluck Luncheon

Stay late! Join us after the service for good food and fellowship at our monthly potluck luncheon. Please bring a dish to share.

Potluck FACE 2 FACE: Get to know others in our church community by participating in a community building exercise during our Potluck after the service this Sunday! Sit at a rectangular table, opposite someone you don’t know well.  Get to know what they are passionate about in their life and at Mill Creek. (Suggestions for questions to ask will be provided at the table, if needed.)

It’s going to be another great day at Mill Creek!
