Our church is moving to a new kind of church record keeping solution called Realm®. It primarily will serve the administrative needs of our staff and it also offers some exciting opportunities to support the way you are involved in our church.
Not only will this improve work life for our ministry staff, it will make it easier for our church family to connect with each other, keep up with what’s going on, and grow as a connected community that invites you to awaken to love.
We are working on getting Realm set up. Over the summer, leaders in the congregation (and anyone who wants to beta-test with us) will be able to log-on and explore the possibilities of connection. This fall, we hope to roll-out the system to all members and friends.
Cool stuff to anticipate: The return of a Church Directory! (with Photos!!); setup of registration events (think classes like Listening to Our Lives, or even paid registrations events like our Chris Crass workshop last January); communication within the groups you are connected to (think Chalice Circles, classes, teams and committees); robust online giving tools – even from your smartphone! You control what information of yours is shared with whom. (For example, you may not want your work phone number shared with the congregation, but you do want your minister to have it.)
As with any new technology, we anticipate some bumps along the way to implementation. As we get used to Realm, we ask forbearance and invite feedback on your concerns and your ideas.
