This Week in Children’s Religious Education

Sunday, April 2:  We welcome the children to classroom 1 after the Story For All Ages. This Sunday we welcome Roberta Headley back to lead our Children’s RE class. Robbie will be reading Waiting for Wings, by Lois Ehlert. The children will also be looking at butterfly jewelry and discussing the life cycle of the Monarch butterfly, and then will be flying to the music of Chopin and Schumann. The children will be transformed into butterflies, and will have scarves to use for wings to fly around the room (thanks to Lauri Rickard for the scarves). Then they will draw or color butterflies. The children will also be helping us decorate our rain barrel.

Volunteer to Help

Members who are interested in supporting the children’s programming on Sunday mornings can click to sign up to help in a class. It’s a different Sunday morning experience, but one with spiritual benefits (especially if you like to laugh). We are looking for adults to volunteer to help with RE especially in late February and throughout March. Many thanks to the wonderful adults and youth who help make this program fun and meaningful for our children!

Please contact us with any questions related to Children’s RE or our Butterfly Spirituality Program at DRE@UUSMC.org.
