Update from PFLAG About Share Our Plate Donation

At Mill Creek, we regularly donate half of our undesignated plate collection monies to a local charitable organization. One of those organizations, PFLAG Delaware, has thoughtfully informed us of how they used the $2,120 donation from our November/December 2018 collection:

  • $1000 was allocated to their scholarship fund, increasing their scholarship offerings from two to three.
  • $500 was set aside to support local school-based Gender/Sexuality Alliances.
  • $500 was used to support the Leadership Academy, an LGBTQ leadership initiative with AIDS DE and Brandywine Counseling.
  • The remainder was used to purchase a table banner to be used for local events, like Delaware Pride.

PFLAG envisions a world where diversity is celebrated and all people are respected, valued, and affirmed inclusive of their sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression. Click here to learn more about this organization.

We believe that generously sharing our gifts and receiving the gifts of others grows our compassion. We find our gifts flow from discerning the intersection of our heart’s deepest yearning and the world’s deepest hunger. We know ourselves to be most alive when we honor the earth and all humanity upon it. – from Mill Creek’s Values, Beliefs and Mission statement
