We have been approved for interconnection with Delmarva Power, which means we can proceed with the installation of a solar panel system. Our solar contractor, CMI Electric, has submitted the paperwork for the grant funding from the State of Delaware, so that is in process. CMI has ordered the panels and equipment and we anticipate that installation of the array can begin sometime in the next month! (Weather will, of course, be a factor in the installation timing.)
We do have some work to do. The power inverter (needed to convert the DC power generated from the solar panels to the AC power we use) will be installed in our mechanical room. Right now, the installation location is blocked with storage shelving. We need to move our tools and miscellaneous supplies out of the mechanical room to make room for the inverter (and, well, to clean up that area in general.) If you are willing and able to help – please contact John Springer or Rev. Greg (firstname.lastname@example.org).
