On International Women’s Day, we gather to honor the women who came before us and to reckon honestly with the women who need our attention right now. What does it truly mean to see — not just beauty, but pain?
Join us this Sunday for Rev. Christe’s sermon, “Pay Attention to Her,” and an exploration of what it costs us to pay attention, and what it costs us when we don’t.
Music for this service will be offered by Lara Vercher and Aaron Walker. Lara Vercher is a clarinetist and educator from Spain. Based in Wilmington, Delaware, she performs with Center City Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia, Newark Symphony, Enon Tabernacle ensemble, and with her own world music projects under Lara Vercher Duo/Trio. Aaron Walker, a native of Memphis, Tennessee, is a percussionist and educator, performing regularly at churches and other venues on the east coast. He teaches privately and he works as a freelance musician playing different styles of music. Lara and Aaron’s latest musical project includes fusing jazz, classical and gospel music.

** Diaper Drive a Big Success

The Social Justice Committee has concluded their diaper drive – ending with a total collection of 2,646 individual diapers of various sizes along with hundreds of wipes.
The drive, coordinated by Suzanne Smith, was so successful it required two delivery trips, and resulted in a very grateful staff at Catholic Charities Diaper Bank — which helps more than 60 local families who rely on these essential items for their children.
The members of the Social Justice Committee express their appreciation for the generous support provided by the congregation – thank you!
** Weekly Work in the Meadow Resumes – Pizza Offered!

Regular Wednesday work times in the church meadow begin on Wednesday, March 11 at 5:30pm. To kick off the new season, the land stewards invite you to join them when they host pizza & beverages after the work concludes. They welcome everyone to learn about the work they’re doing, why our meadow is an important model of native habitat restoration. and possibly lend a hand.

As a volunteer-run grassroots organization, they work to protect our air and water quality and supporting state legislation and policies to reduce the negative impacts from climate change on those precious resources now and in the future.

Board policy leaves the decision to cancel church service with the minster and the board president. We always endeavor to make such decisions in a timely fashion.

D&D is a role-playing game about storytelling in worlds of swords and sorcery. Each player creates an adventurer (also called a character) and teams up with other adventurers (played by friends). Working together, the group might explore a dark dungeon, a ruined city, a haunted castle, a lost temple deep in a jungle, or a lava-filled cavern beneath a mysterious mountain. The adventurers can solve puzzles, talk with other characters, battle fantastic monsters, and discover fabulous magic items and other treasure. No registration required – just drop in. All are welcome to join the group in classroom 4. Occurs every 2 weeks on Sundays.
