** Adult RE Class
————————————————————
Spaces still available!
What is it you actually believe? What UU values do you actually live by?
This fall, Rev. Christe is offering Building Our Own Theology, an original eight-week course — no textbook to buy, no single “menu” of belief options, just real material to think, feel, and argue with. The course builds toward something concrete: a personal credo you’ll write, revise, and share with the group in the closing week.
The class begins Wednesday, September 16 and meets first and third Wednesday evenings through January, 6:30–8:30 pm, at church. Registration is required, click the button below. Space is limited to keep the circle small. Contact Rev. Christe (mailto:revchriste@gmail.com) with questions.

** Join us next Friday for our Autumn Equinox Celebration
————————————————————
What does Equinox have to do with Mill Creek?
All are welcome to join our ceremony/ritual to honor the extended natural world, of which we are a part.
We honor the interdependent web of all existence and acknowledge our place in it. With reverence for the great web of life and with humility, we acknowledge our place in it.
Unitarian Universalism draws on the Spiritual teachings of Earth-centered traditions which celebrate the sacred circle of life and instruct us to live in harmony with the rhythms of nature.
Come and learn from one another in our free and responsible search for truth and meaning. We embrace our differences and commonalities with love, curiosity, and respect.

10:30 am
————————————————————
There is a river that runs through all our peoples — swift, strong, carrying us forward even when we can’t see where it bends next. Summer scatters us along its banks — to lakeshores and beach shores and mountain trails, to family visits and water hoses and quiet backyards, to rest and to restlessness. Now the season turns, and we turn with it, back toward one another.
Rev. Christe Lunsford welcomes you to bring a small vessel of water from wherever your summer carried you — a lake, a tap, a tear, a tide, a well you didn’t know you’d find. As we gather, we’ll mingle our waters into one, a single flowing testament to life’s journey and who we’ve become since we were last together. This is the ritual that marks our return: not just a service, but a homecoming.
Feel the excitement rising as our beloved community reunites for a new season of worship, connection, and shared purpose. We have some special guests joining us for worship this morning — come and be surprised and delighted. And (weather permitting!) we’ll carry the celebration outside for coffee hour, continuing the gathering in the open air.
Plan to stay a while!
Our coffee hour will be outside in a tented area where a wide assortment of food and beverages will be available.

Music for this service will be offered by Trio Voz y Sentimiento. Originally from Mexico, Venezuela and Peru, the group began their musical project in 2015 with the purpose of bringing joy to their audiences and friends and share some of their roots through the musical styles of boleros, rancheras, ballads, cumbias, and more. The group features Astrid Sanchez (Venezuela), first violin; Henry Hurtado (Peru), accompanist guitar; and Hugo-Jonathan Chavez (Mexico), first guitar requinto. They perform locally for private and corporate events. Look for them on Facebook!

** NO CHURCH SERVICE:
Sunday, September 20
————————————————————
Join us on the UD Green Instead!
On September 20, we won’t be gathering within our own walls. The City of Newark’s Parks and Recreation Department, the University of Delaware, and the Christina School District are hosting the area’s premier community festival on The Green — Newark Community Day — featuring live music, local food, fine art and handmade crafts, a children’s area, and information booths from organizations across our town. And right in the middle of it all, we’ll be carrying our community out into the wider world.
Wear your Mill Creek shirt if you’ve got one, and come find us at our booth. We’ll be there from 11am to 4pm — connecting with neighbors, sharing who we are, and joining in the spirit of outreach and belonging. Weather permitting, we hope to begin our time together with some centering worship, grounding ourselves before the day unfolds.
Make a day of it — wander the Green, enjoy the music and food, and stay a while, hand out stickers, and share what Mill Creek has to offer.
Booth volunteers needed! Support our outreach efforts by volunteering some time in our booth – just one hour or several – all efforts are welcome. See or contact Rev. Christe HERE (mailto:revchriste@gmail.com) if you can help.
** Current Share Our Plate Recipient
————————————————————
We regularly donate a half of our undesignated plate collection to a local charity or non-profit organization. For the months of September & October we are supporting:
SOAR – Survivors of Abuse in Recovery, Inc.
SOAR is a local non-profit organization dedicated to providing professional mental health services, education, and advocacy to victims of sexual trauma and their families regardless of their ability to pay. More than 2,000 adults, adolescents, children, and their families residing in Delaware and the surrounding counties in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Maryland utilize SOAR’s services annually. They rely on the generosity of the community for the support services offered so no one is ever turned away.

** Dungeons & Dragons
A Recurring Event
————————————————————
Sundays: September 13 & 27
(every other week)
12:00 pm, Conference Room
D&D is a role-playing game about storytelling in worlds of swords and sorcery. Each player creates an adventurer (also called a character) and teams up with other adventurers (played by friends). Working together, the group might explore a dark dungeon, a ruined city, a haunted castle, a lost temple deep in a jungle, or a lava-filled cavern beneath a mysterious mountain. The adventurers can solve puzzles, talk with other characters, battle fantastic monsters, and discover fabulous magic items and other treasure. No registration required – just drop in. All are welcome to join the group in the Conference Room. Occurs every other week on Sundays.
