This Sunday, we celebrate two core Rites of Passage for our children and their completion of the Age of Reason and Coming of Age curricula. The Age of Reason program is intended to honor our children’s religious growth and to foster their identity as young Unitarian Universalists. The program is designed to engage young minds in ways of thinking about the world and how those ways form our understanding of ourselves, our families, our communities, and the world.
The Coming of Age curricula is designed to go deeper into understanding and developing a Unitarian Universalist identity and to guide young UU’s in ways of articulating their values and beliefs. The program culminates in each student writing their own credo — a statement of what they believe at this moment in their life, and how those beliefs call them to be in this world.
Come early! Our Adult Religious Education group meets every Sunday at 9:15 am in the MacArtor Library. This week we are continuing our discussion of Judaism. Our guest speaker is Mill Creek member Randy Ploener. Randy will be sharing his personal insights from being raised in the Jewish faith, discussing the traditions of Judaism, and responding to questions about his religious heritage.
Please stay with us after the service for our monthly pot-luck luncheon — enjoy warm fellowship and good food! Bring a dish to share.
It’s going to be another great day at Mill Creek!
