Join Us on Sunday, March 6 at 10:30 am

This week, we welcome Linda Lucero who shares her message, “Empower Women — Empower Humanity!” Linda will be joined by UUSMC’s Junior and Senior young women in play, song and dance to celebrate Women’s History Month, International Women’s Day (March 8th), and the start of our monthly ministry theme, Laughter, Song & Dance. Music and dance will be performed by Abigail Cowan, Jenna Knaster, Kate Nolan and Becky Rusch.

This is a multi-generational service. Children are encouraged to attend the full service. There will be supervision provided for children needing/wanting to leave service early. Parents, please escort them to the appropriate room to be sure they have gotten to their supervised room safely. Children under 4 may go to the Nursery and children 4-10 may go to Room 1.

Come early! Our Adult Religious Exploration group meets every Sunday before service at 9:15 am in the MacArtor Library. This Sunday for Women’s History month we will be watching a video called We Should All Be Feminists by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie who is a renowned Nigerian novelist born in 1977. In 2009 Ngozi’s collection of short stories, The Thing around Your Neck was published. She was named one of the twenty most important fiction writers under 40 years old by The New Yorker. The April 2012 edition of Time Magazine celebrated her as one of the 100 Most Influential People in the World. Currently, she divides her time between Nigeria and the United States.

Death Penalty Repeal
Following the service, members of our  congregation will be gathering letters to repeal the death penalty in Delaware.  The repeal bill (SB 40) passed the Senate last year and the House is expected vote on March 9th. Only three more votes are required to pass this historic legislation.

There will also be a Social Justice Committee Meeting after service.

It’s going to be another great day at Mill Creek!
